Jane Austen
Jane Austen,the famous English
novelist,was born the seventh of eight children of a father who was an Anglican clergyman.
She was born in 1775 at Steventon, Hampshire and grew up in the peace and quiet of a loundry personage.
Jane had absolutely nothing to do with the literary life of London.But she gradually became
aquainted the life of England and her writings were based on her experiences in her own village.The inspiration for all her novels came from the observations she made within her own family as well.
Jane Austen never married,but when she was older she spent most of her time with the families of her nephews and nieces.Jane completed three novels between the years 1795 and 1798. But her first novel Sense and Sensibility appeared thirteen years later in 1811. This became an instant success.
Most of her famous novels were published in the next four years. These were Pride and Prejudice in 1813,Mansfield Park in 1814 and Emma in the year 1815.The last novel, Northanger Abbey was pubished in 1818, the year after her death.
